Here we go Steelers!!!

In honor of tomorrow's Jets vs. Steelers game, I thought I would post some of my pics from last weeks playoff game.  Yes, my pics... since we were there of course!!!

A friend of ours had two extra tickets to the game which we somehow snatched up the night before.  Can't believe they were still available!  The seats were high, but the view was great!  Right on the 40 yard line.  We could literally see every play of the game.  And what an awesome game it was!

Warming up.

The 'Burgh from our seats.

Trace Adkins sang the National Anthem.  And none other than Bret Michaels pumped the fans up before the game.

All bundled up in our black and gold!!!

The view from our seats.  Check out all those Terrible Towels!!!

Cliff was asked if I now understand Steeler Nation.  Yep, I get it!  I have never, ever, in my life experienced anything like that.  A stadium filled with 65,000 people on their feet for the bulk of the game.  Screaming to pump up the defense, and then quieting down to a whisper for the offense.  Incredible to have a stadium full of people so into the game.  Awesome, awesome, awesome!

By the end of the game, everyone was a new friend.  People were high-fiving, laughing with, and hugging total strangers.  A guy four down from us was literally crying near the end of the game.  Honestly!  Kind of extreme?  Yes.  But I don't know if there is any other town were you would see that happen.

So, although we won't be in the stands again tomorrow, we will be wearing our black and gold.  Here we go Steelers!!!

Note:  Since I am from Cleveland originally, I want to apologize to any family members and friends I may have offended with this post.  You know I love ya!  :)

Nap time? Nah.

Lately I have been struggling to get Gabey and Landon to take their afternoon nap.  Today was no different.  So after an hour of romping around in their room instead of sleeping, I let them out and sent them downstairs to play.  I headed down shortly after, and found this...

Passed out on the couch!  Gabe and Landon, let this be a lesson to you.  Mommy told you two that you were tired and needed to take a nap.  Now I have a picture to prove my point!  Mommy is always right you little goobers!

Snow day!!!

These past two days we've been hit up with a solid 5-7 inches of snow.  So I promised the boys that we would head outside one day and build a snowman.  Today was the day and they were so excited!  That was the plan...

However, when we got outside Landon supervised my snowman building while eating as much snow as he possibly could.  While Gabe and Liam ran around like crazy boys throwing themselves head first into the snow and sliding down our hills on their tummy's.  Sadly, I ended up building a pathetic looking snowman by myself.  Which Liam happily knocked over about two minutes after I finished making Frosty.  Ugh!  That's boys for you!

Heading out into the winter wonderland.

Lander Bear happy as a clam after eating his weight in snow.

Gabe getting in on the action too!

Silly faces!  :)

My three little snowmen!

Four legged friend

Thought I meant a dog, didn't ya!  :)  Nope, thanks to Landon's allergies we are a no pet household right now.  However, we can enjoy our friend the "deersie"!

Came upstairs this morning to find this guy bedded down about 15 feet from our back door. Poor Liam was at school and missed out on our new friend. Our buddy hung out here for about two and a half hours this morning providing countless trips to "check on our deersie"!

Come back soon Mr. Deersie!  Gabe and Landon told me after you left that you're their best friend!

A messy artist...

While painting on Friday...

Me:  Liam honey, you've got to be careful.  You're getting paint everywhere.
Liam:  Mom, a messy artist will be messy.

Well, okay then!  I guess Liam has set the record straight on this one!

Serious concentration...

The finished masterpieces!

Potty Time!!!

Da da da da!!!  The royal throne of potty training has come out of retirement for rounds two and three!

This little man here, my little Gabey Goo, has been talking about going potty and wearing "unnawears" for months and months.  The thought of potty training two boys simultaneously nearly brought tears of frustration to my eyes.  Then the holidays were upon us.  What a difficult time to start potty training!  Schedules are all out of whack and there is always a party or get together of some sort going on.  So, I resolved to start potty training with Gabe after the New Year.

As you'll see from the date of the pictures, I started as I'd planned on Monday, January 3rd.  Lets just say this first attempt was a three hour test of my sanity and our washing machine's load capacity.  :)  Needless to say I gave up after three hours filled with three pee accidents and one poop accident... all in our new "unnawears" to boot!

Nothin' cuter than a 'lil bum covered in his "unnawears"!

Ok, fast forward to today.  Today is the day.  No more diapers.  We can do this.  Seriously, this was the pep talk going on in my head.  :)  I would say that today was a victorious day!!!

Gabe started the day off with an accident... of course.  I would be lying if I didn't say that I was frustrated.  "Here we go again."  But from then on out, it was peein' on the potty like a champ!  I was even able to graduate from the 10 minute potty breaks before lunch time.  What a big boy you are!!!

I know that you are proud of yourself (proven by the serious flaunting of your lollipop reward!) and I hope you know how proud I am of you.  You did GREAT today big boy!  Next stop... a trip to the store to buy you some very special Spider-Man "unnawears" all your own!  Keep up the good work buddy!  I love you!

Happy New Year!!!

Happy New Year 2011!!!

Hard to believe yet another year has flown by.  They say that once you have kiddos the time literally passes by at warp speed.  I never truly understood this until I had kids of my own.  I honestly feel like I blinked and 2010 was over... that quickly!  In the true spirit of the season, I'm posting a New Years resolution to blog more frequently.  Hopefully by posting it here on the blog any readers out there can harass me when I start to slack off!  :)

How did you celebrate the New Year?  I bet it was a bit more eventful than our evening!

Chuckie and Dani were having their annual New Years Eve party.  Cliff and I were super excited to hit up their house again this year.  We had a BLAST last year and were so looking forward to it.  The boys had a ton of fun playing with their cousins all night long.  And the adults were able to enjoy a few, lets be realistic here... a whole bunch of alcoholic beverages.  What better way to ring in the New Year!

Thursday night Landon was hit up with the dreaded 24 hour stomach bug that plagued Gabe earlier in the week.  This thing literally hit the boys for five or so miserable hours full of puke and then was gone in a flash.  Well, the bug hit up Liam New Years Eve nixing our party plans.  I felt awful for the boys.  No one likes to be sick, but it seems so much worse when it's the boys going through that.  There's literally nothing you can do but ride it out with bucket in hand.

So, instead of flip cup at Chuckie and Dani's, Cliff and I played a mean game of Scrabble; drank some beers; had a sip of some "past it's prime" champagne; and watched the ball drop in Times Square.  Don't we sound like an 80 year old couple?!?!  Luckily, we're no longer walking among the sickies and the boys are feeling back to their old selves again.

Here's hoping for a happy and healthy 2011!  Happy New Year everyone!  :)
